Without the White Gold – the Wild Magic – Lord Foul the Despiser, Gray Slayer, Fangthane and Render, enemy of the Land, would have nothing against which to fight.

Without the White Gold. . .  there would be no fight.

But, why fight?

The victor can be merciful; The vanqushed can see God.
The living die; The dead find life.
The aggressor conquers; The meek will own the Land.

Why is this true?

This conversation came while reading one of the most engrossing series of books I’ve ever encountered. They’re called the Chronicals of Thomas Covenant – six great, thought provoking books about a leper (Thomas Covenant) who wields the power and Wild Magic of the White Gold (his wedding band) in an effort to save the Land from Lord Foul (with all his aliases).
