The White Gold does not do battle for it is beyond the Arch of Time.

It cannot Win or Lose For these both suggest the end of an event And beyond the Arch of Time there is no end … and no beginning.

It cannot be Destroyed or Die For beyond the Arch of Time, there is no Death … and no Birth

Beyond the Arch there is not what is beneath

But what is beneath is enveloped by what is not beyond - such that both is and is not

This conversation came while reading one of the most engrossing series of books I’ve ever encountered. They’re called the Chronicals of Thomas Covenant - six great, thought provoking books about a leper (Thomas Covenant) who wields the power and Wild Magic of the White Gold (his wedding band) in an effort to save the Land from Lord Foul (with all his aliases).

Without the White Gold - the Wild Magic - Lord Foul the Despiser, Gray Slayer, Fangthane and Render, enemy of the Land, would have nothing against which to fight.

Without the White Gold. . .  there would be no fight.

But, why fight?

The victor can be merciful; The vanqushed can see God.
The living die; The dead find life.
The aggressor conquers; The meek will own the Land.

Why is this true?

You ask the question for "ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of." (Luke 9:52-56)

How often we confuse religious activities or emotional actions with the Kingdom of God and His love.

A true gift - once given - can never be taken away.

Real love Beareth All things
. . . Endureth All things
. . . Hopeth All things
. . . Believeth All things.

Prophecies will cease.

Tongues will cease.

Atari Asteroids* will cease.

Chuck E. Cheese* will cease.

But Faith, Hope, and Love will remain. Make sure these are the gifts you are giving. . . . . . and the greatest of these is Love.

Atari Asteroids: an early video game popular in the mid 1980s. Chuck E. Cheese: a pizza parlor for kids also popular in the mid 1980s. The conversation was recorded some time ago while struggling with the best way to show my family true love.
